Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

 

The Patti & Walter Blenko Scholarship Fund is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment for all scholarship recipients as well as our volunteer Board of Directors.

• Diversity: We celebrate and embrace differences in race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, disability, and other identities.
   

• Equity: We strive to eliminate barriers and ensure fair access to the scholarship application process.
   

• Inclusion: We actively create a space where everyone feels valued, respected, seen, and heard.
   

These values inform our scholarship selection process. 
 

Objective Criteria: We evaluate scholarship applicants based on objective factors such as academic achievement, financial need, and performing arts experience. Our criteria are transparent and consistently applied.

Holistic Approach: Beyond grades, theatrical performance and scores, we consider the whole person. We value diverse life experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives. Our goal is to uplift students who contribute to the performing arts in their own unique way.

 

Equity: We actively address systemic barriers that may disproportionately affect certain groups. Our scholarships aim to level the playing field, ensuring equal access and opportunity for all.

 

Inclusive Outreach: We actively reach out to underserved schools, encouraging them to promote our scholarship opportunities to eligible students.
